Welcome!

The Buck, 2022, digital painting
I’m Stacy E. Hunley—a muralist, watercolorist, and creative problem solver with a passion for turning challenges into beauty. As a visually impaired artist, I’ve learned to see the world in a unique way, and now I use that perspective to create vibrant, meaningful art that uplifts and inspires.
My latest project, The Mural Movement of New Lenox, is all about bringing large-scale, hand-painted murals to schools and public spaces across our community. It’s a mission fueled by color, connection, and the belief that public art can empower, educate, and transform.
Stick around to explore my work, learn how to get involved, and see how we’re making New Lenox brighter—one wall at a time.
Introducing

Where it all started... I donated my time and talent for this mural, found at Arnold J. Tyler Elementary school in New Lenox, IL. The paint was generously donated by JC Licht in New Lenox.
The Mural Movement of New Lenox is a community-based public art initiative dedicated to bringing color, creativity, and connection to schools and shared spaces throughout New Lenox, Illinois. As both the founder and lead artist, I believe deeply in the power of art to uplift, inspire, and create a sense of belonging. Together, we can install murals and other forms of public art all throughout New Lenox.
This project began with a mural I painted at Arnold J. Tyler Elementary School. What started as a donation of time and talent turned into something much greater—students were energized, teachers felt proud, and community members expressed overwhelming support and gratitude. It quickly became clear that this kind of visual storytelling had the power to unite people, spark conversations, and enrich the learning environment.
Building on that momentum, I hope to bring murals to other schools in the New Lenox School District—as well as to community spaces. Importantly, this initiative is entirely collaborative; murals are only created in locations where they are genuinely wanted and welcomed. Each piece is thoughtfully designed with input from students, staff, and local residents to reflect the identity, values, and dreams of the community it serves.
Through this movement, I aim to do more than paint walls—I want to create lasting landmarks that foster pride, amplify youth voices, and celebrate the heart of New Lenox. While I’m not currently applying for grants, I am fiscally sponsored, and all donations made toward the project are tax-deductible.
The Mural Movement of New Lenox is about coming together to turn shared spaces into vibrant reflections of who we are. One wall at a time, we’re building something beautiful—together.
Join the Movement today!

Murals and creative storytelling do more than beautify a space—they encourage observers to:
+ Think creatively and see obstacles as opportunities.
+ Develop confidence in their own artistic and problem-solving skills.
+ Feel a stronger sense of pride and connection within their school and community.
+ By integrating art with storytelling, I aim to foster a culture of resilience, self-expression, and community involvement.

🎨 Make a monetary Donation
Every dollar makes a difference. Your tax-deductible one-time or monthly donation helps fund the creation of murals in schools and public spaces, covering materials, artist labor, and community engagement.Once I raise $1,000 for this project, I’ll be eligible to apply for grants through my fiscal sponsorship. This means I can apply for funding in addition to what the village, district, or PTO might pursue—or even on their behalf—helping to ease the financial burden on them while expanding opportunities for public art.
